MARA’s Bitcoin Treasury Nears $6 Billion as Mining Surges, Boosting Bitcoin Hyper Presale

Bitcoin: This impressive feat comes as a result of MARA’s increased mining efficiency, powered by a hashrate boost to 59.6 EH/s and the activation of its Texas wind farms. The company is also making strategic moves beyond mining. In the upcoming fourth quarter of 2025, MARA plans to acquire a 64% stake in Exaion, a world-leading low-carbon energy producer. Such efforts demonstrate MARA’s commitment to sustainable, large-scale Bitcoin mining.

The company’s ambition aligns with the current market dynamics. Bitcoin recently dipped below $111,000, prompting MARA to accelerate its accumulation strategy in anticipation of the next bull run, expected in Q4. This timing is especially significant as Bitcoin Layer 2 upgrade, Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER), is nearing the end of its presale, creating potential for further market momentum.

MARA’s Strategic Vision in the Bitcoin Market

MARA’s goal is clear: secure a larger slice of the Bitcoin ecosystem. To achieve this, the company has been actively increasing its mining and buying efforts. Back in July, MARA issued $850 million worth of senior convertible notes, earmarking a significant portion for Bitcoin investments.

This approach mirrors the strategy of Michael Saylor’s firm, Strategy, which holds the world’s largest Bitcoin treasury at nearly $70 billion, consisting of 636,505 Bitcoins. Strategy recently made multiple strategic purchases, acquiring over 7,700 Bitcoins in August and September alone, showcasing a long-term vision to leverage market dips. MARA appears to be following a similar path, positioning itself to benefit from future upward trends in Bitcoin’s value.

Bitcoin Hyper and the Promise of Enhanced Performance

While Bitcoin remains the most recognized cryptocurrency, its transaction speed 7 transactions per second (TPS) lags behind competitors, limiting its appeal to large-scale investors and payment processors. For comparison, Ethereum processes 16 TPS, Solana can handle up to 1,000 TPS, and theoretically reaches 65,000 TPS.

Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER), a Layer 2 upgrade, aims to solve these performance bottlenecks. By leveraging the Canonical Bridge and the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM), Bitcoin Hyper intends to dramatically increase Bitcoin’s transaction capacity. The Canonical Bridge connects Hyper to the Bitcoin network and uses the Bitcoin Relay Program to confirm transactions in seconds rather than hours. It then converts user tokens into Hyper’s Layer 2, easing congestion on the main network and improving overall efficiency.
